MLB Showdown 2011 #Shotsfriday
Welcome
to the favorite day of the week #Shotsfriday. We had big week last week where
the rich got richer. Bother Twitter-boarders who scored last week scored again.
We got caught in the @quicksand3 again when Robinson Cano another Yankee went
deep for him putting him in sole possession at first place with 3 and the first
for Cano. We also stayed in the @Eddiezone44 when Pedro Alvarez went deep
again. That puts the Twitter-board to 2 which is crowded now. Alvarez is tied
with Teixeira for first on the player-board with 2. A pair of first timers with
Mark Trumbo hitting a laser beam for @Gregleasure. Bother have one now.
Hopefully other will join them this #shotsfriday. Make sure you get your picks
in.
Today we are introducing a new
feature to the blog to the blog to reward some of our more faithful followers.
I have assembled my “Pro team” to help me with the blog and they have helped
and been guest hosts and such. We want to give everyone out there a chance to
work their way up to big leagues like us. This will be a combination of factors
but mostly merit and point based to work your way up. Here are the examples we
have now

The
goal here is to try and build as much community as possible for the game we all
love so much. We want to reward people for staying connected and being active.
Activity can be the passive forms like following us and subscribing. We really
want active community between fellow players where we reward comments on the
blog and twitter using the hash tags. We also want people teaching their
friends how to play the game and getting leagues set up. We also want to know
all your information and stats so we can all become better players. Now how
would rewards work? That is a good question and this is a shortened season so
we will experiment with this for now and see how that goes. I think qualified
members deserve to give input into cards. We want to give the people a voice
and want you the people to use it.

We can always add stuff. We are always open to suggestions
around here. The best way to do that is to hit that little comment on the
bottom and let me know. Heck you will start getting points for it and work your
way toward whatever rewards we can possibly give you. I hope this has been a
pleasant change of pace from talking about boring strategy cards every Friday.
Remember to send in your #shotsfriday predictions and enjoy the rest of the
year.

Are the points something you will be keep track of or this something we need to track individually? I know I would have trouble keeping track of all the stuff I do. Love the concept though, definitely encourages me to continue being really involved in the Showdown community.
ReplyDeletewill keep as best of records as I can. You can ask for your own point total at anytime and I will try and give it to you. I also Retro-actively have given as many points as I could. It is just a fun thing to do to let our more faithful readers and members of the community help in being part of the game.
ReplyDeleteI'm pumped to start getting more involved in the showdown communtity.. had a great time drafting last night and would love to do it again.. just made my first #shotsfriday guess on twitter
ReplyDeletewould love to see what a Josh Hamilton or Even more so a Craig Gentry card is looking like for 2012#playforthecard
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna chime in for one of favorite teams players, Chris Sale...I know I haven't seen a lot of pitcher love but...I thought I would throw that out there as a suggestion!
