Do you guys exclusively do cards in the 2000-2001 style? I liked the 2004-2005 much better
ReplyDeleteWe do exclusively make 2000-2001 style. We have yet to find anyone making 2002-2005 style that we are willing to endorse.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought you guys made all of these anyway and just chose to make this style over the later ones. To be honest I love just breaking out my old cards and using those with friends.
DeleteI hope somebody makes a professional level 2002-2005 style for the fans of that type sometime soon. Til then looks like we will have to convert people to our style
ReplyDeleteWell I don't necessarily mean with the layout, but in terms of stats it would be doable. The whole "pitchers can have HRs on their charts with totals over 20" was a good development and the break from the strict 10, 15, 20 for speed was great too. I also think the higher on base with worse charts allowed for more tailoring to specific players' abilities.
ReplyDeleteWe did adopt the custom speeds. We kept to the original 1-20 charts. though we play by the rules where every additional number beyond 20 is an extra base from the max. So say David Cone 2000 has a 20 double, he also has a 21 triple and 22 homer. Again hopefully someone comes by and makes a serviceable 2002-2005 type remake. We just have not found one yet we are willing to endorse.
ReplyDeleteAh OK, sorry for the miscommunication, I just read "about" and realized that you guys didn't make all of these cards yourselves. But I'm glad to see other showdown enthusiasts around!
ReplyDeleteEverything on this blog is ours. We have a 09,10,11 and 12 set made completely compatible with the 2000/2001 styles.
ReplyDeleteI've liked what I've gotten from Ian Kennedy so far in our league, hes been a solid inning eater for my #3 starter. Has an ERA just under 5 right now through 10 starts. I'll take it for 300 points.
