#ShotsFriday: New Tabs
Welcome back from your All-star break everybody. Hope you all enjoyed a productive week of work without baseball around to distract you. Now it is time to get back to play and enjoy some more baseball and MLB Showdown. Someone who has been pulling double duty for the past month or so is @Tomwyliehart. He has been scanning the internet for any spoilers for the new Magic the Gathering set and predicting Friday night home run hitters. No idea how successful the MTG spoiler search is going but he is spot on with #shotsfriday predictions. Last week was no different picking Chris Davis. That is @tomwyliehart’s eighth and Chris Davis’s third. At this pace we should be looking for 2014 MLB Showdown spoilers from him, as he is on pace to get to have 3 custom cards made if no one catches him. The positioning seems to be for second and third place. The prizes of 2 and 1 custom card a piece there is still worth fighting for. Text in your picks for who will hit a homer today and enjoy your favorite work appropriate beverage.
Last week we showed off our new
trade forum. Today we are going to show off three new tabs on the right side of
the blog that may be helpful. We added our new Game Finder tab. This should
help players find online games with likeminded players. I know the Facebook
page “Bring back MLB Showdown” has organized a few events using that. I am
hoping to bring more options to the table through this. We have used Google
Hangouts successfully. I am not sure what other mediums people use but hope you
all can figure something out and get some games played.
We also added a Stats tab. If you
have any stats from online games or in person games we would love to see them.
Any stats at all no matter how old may be useful for someone. We all love to
see what is successful and what has not been successful. We only ask there that
you be specific on your league play style and rules so that we can compare
apples to apples.
Our final tab is the Local Player
tab. This is a way for you to say where you live and try and put out a beacon
for other MLB Showdown players nearby. This may be helpful for setting up
leagues. Help with doing trading in person. Who knows what else but it is never
a bad resource. Hope these tools are useful to everyone.

I know its old school, but we used to use AIM to play online when I was in high school. I think I still remember the code for the dice rolling app if anyone needs it. Not even sure if AIM still exists, its been a while since I've used it.
ReplyDeleteThe forums are a great idea, I think you should have one where people can talk about strategy and team building. Like I can post my team and have people comment on what they think and how to improve it. Or post a team and ask what strategy cards they thought would go well with it.
