World Series Game 2

Well, my simulation had the same result, but took a different path to get there.  Last night the Giants took game one of the World Series on the road.  James Shields looked awful, and Bumgarner looked brilliant.  I figured the Royals would cool off as they rode momentum all the way here, but 6 days off is too much time off for a team on fire like that.
I did play out Game 2 using the 2014 set, with the same rules as Game 1.  And here is how it played out:

Jake Peavy vs Yordano Ventura

Looking at the charts (which will be available after the first of the year), Ventura was at the advantage here.  However, the Giants were the first to score first.  After each team had 1-2-3 first innings, things looked good for Venutra in the second.  However, after retiring the first two batters, he gave the advantage to Brandon Belt, who launched the ball into the seats for a home run.

In the bottom of the second, Kansas City threatened.  With two outs, Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez singled.  A walk to Omar Infante loaded the bases, but Mike Moustakas's long fly ball was caught for the final out.

A leadoff walk to Joe Panik in the second lead Bochy to bunt with Brandon Crawford.  A walk to Angel Pagan was followed by a single by Gregor Blanco.  With Buster Posey coming up, Panik was held at third.  Ventura then got Posey to hit a ground ball, but he was able to beat it out, scoring Panik on the Fielder's Choice.  That was all they got in the inning, but it gave them a 2-0 lead.

A double with two outs by Lorenzo Cain was all the threat the Royals mustered in their half of the inning.  Ventura set the Giants down in order (striking out two) in the top of the fourth, keeping it close.  After Peavy got two outs to start the bottom of the fourth, he gave up consecutive singles to Perez, Infante, and Moustakas (the last two without the advantage),

The fifth saw Crawford double with one out, but stay stranded at second (Gregor Blanco flew out with the advantage).  In the bottom, Norichika Aoki got the advantage and doubled.  Cain followed with the advantage and an RBI single.  In order to stay out of the double play, Cain stole second and moved to third on Billy Butler's grounder to second.  Eric Hosmer got under the ball and flew out, scoring Cain from third and giving the Royals their first lead of the series.

Ventura finished off his night doing what the Royals hope to do: get to their bullpen with a lead. Kelvin Hererra, Wade Davis, and Greg Holland each worked their scoreless inning, and the Royals finished with a split at home, winning by a final of 3-2.
