#ShotsFriday: 2013 Preview

Showing off more of @roktikitiki’s hard work today, which is a perfect intro to say…Last week @roktikitiki predicted the demise of this Twins by picking Adam Dunn to go deep. That is @roktikitiki’s 4th of the year to give him a hold of second place. That is also the second for Adam Dunn. Remember the top winner gets to make 3 cards for 2013, second place gets 2 and third gets 1. Remember to tweet in who you think will go deep in a game tonight. Use the hashtag #shotsfriday or tweet a @mlbshowdownguru.\

Showing off some more of our 2013 cards who have been suspended players. Trying to make a positive out of the Biogenesis trials.

Johnny Peralta 2013- Pinger’s paradise with this card. The classic 9, 20 HR with a few more doubles with 17-19. You have to suffer through a speed C (12) but you get a SS+4. He singles on a 9 or higher and only costs 240 points. I also absolutely love the Tigers logo in the back of this one. It actually looks like the tiger is coming out through the card.

Evereth Cabrera 2013- This card reminds me of the old 2000 Kevin Stocker card. This guy can lead-off and play great defense. Still a downgrade from the 2000 Barry Larkin, but for a few less points you get a serviceable player. He has a large out and a lot of GBs which makes him scary at anything other than a lead-off hitter. His A(22) speed may be valuable as well. Card looks great also, love the halo effect around the players. Really makes them stand out.

Nelson Cruz 2013- I love Nelson Cruz because he is just a home run hitter. I am amazed how many people think he is a great all-around up player. His career .328 OBP refutes any argument people have that he is some stud middle of the order hitter. Or that 2011 was some sort of “off year”. 2010 was his off year, where he got his OBP through the roof. I still love him, just amazed how many people who usually disagree with me agree with me on Nelson Cruz. Oh yea the card… 7, 1-2 out, 16-20 HR, 14-15 2B, 3-5 with speed A(18) for 340 points. I would give him a run as a six-spot hitter.
